Course platforms life cycle
All the course platforms in Learn environment have a life cycle in which they are first in the active stage, then archived and in the last stage, removed from the learning environment. Study takes place on the active stage course platforms. When the course platform is archived, it turns unavailable for students and the study accomplishments created during the active stage will remain only for the teacher to review.
The teacher of the archived course platform sees the course and can also use the copies made of it as a basis for new implementations. At the end of the archiving period, the course platform and the included study accomplishments will be permanently deleted from the learning environment. Teachers of the course platform will be informed in advance about the future archiving and deletion of the course platform.Teachers of the course platform will be informed in advance about the future archiving and deletion of the course platform.
The life cycle of the course platform can be normal or extended. The length of the normal life cycle is three years, of which the course platform is active for one year and then in the archives for two years. Most of the course platforms in the learning environment follow this life cycle. The length of the extended life cycle is six years, of which the course platforms are active for five years and archived for one year. The extended life cycle courses include e.g. various group, thesis, internship, study material and project platforms.
